Housing Contract

Just like signing a lease for an apartment, we ask that our students sign a housing contract as a part of the application process. We value transparency when it comes to living on campus, so we encourage you to read the housing contract before applying for housing.

2025-2026 HOUSING CONTRACT

The 2025-2026 Academic Year Housing Contract has been updated, as it is annually, to reflect necessary changes to be as adaptable as possible to today’s MMC on-campus student population.

Students who apply for housing are signing a Housing Contract for both the fall and spring semesters, and cannot cancel or be released from the contract.

It is important to read and understand the contract in its entirety before signing.

College residence, by its communal nature, requires residents to respect differing lifestyles. At all times this entails respecting the rights of others. Therefore, residents are required to:

  • Respect the right of all residents to cleanliness, security, privacy, space, quiet hours for study and sleep, and an environment conducive to learning and college living.
  • Comply with the rules and regulations stated in the College Catalogue, Student Handbook, the Resident’s Guide to Community Living, and/or posted on the website related to appropriate conduct established by the College and the Residence Life Staff.

Violation of these terms and conditions or any other applicable rules, policies or procedures incorporated by reference herein, may subject the student to fines and/or disciplinary action, including but not limited to termination of the student’s right to occupy a space and/or suspension or expulsion from the College. Students evicted from the residence hall for disciplinary reasons are responsible for paying all housing and board charges.

  • I understand that by applying for housing, I am responsible for the housing charges for the entire academic year, even if I decide to withdraw from housing at any point in time.

  • I understand that the residence halls will operate at full capacity, and that I will be sharing an apartment and bedroom with other students. I also understand that MMC does not offer single rooms.

  • I understand that I must be registered as a full-time student for Spring 2026, at least 12 credit hours, by the end of Fall 2025 semester to keep my belongings in the residence hall over the winter break and J-term. I understand that if I am not registered as a full-time student for Spring 2026 semester by December 19, 2025 I will have to fully move out of the residence hall.
  • I understand that the deadline to submit housing accommodation requests to the Office of Disability Services is July 1st for Fall 2025. Housing accommodation requests received after this date will be reviewed, but are subject to availability. Please note, once room assignments are given, we cannot make room changes until two weeks after the start of the school year. Common housing accommodations include: delofted bed, low floor, fewest number of roommates, Emotional Support Animals (ESA), and/or fire drill notices. • I understand that, Marymount Manhattan College will not be providing quarantine or isolation spaces for students who test positive for COVID-19, or any illness or other communicable disease. I understand that if I test positive for COVID-19, or any illness or other communicable disease, I am responsible for my own isolation, which may include isolation in a bedroom and/or apartment with others. I understand that Marymount Manhattan College is not responsible for locating or paying for an isolation space for me on or off campus.
  • I agree to have a conversation with all of my roommate(s)/suitemates after Move-In Day with what our plan will be should a roommate/suitemate test positive for COVID-19, or any illness or other communicable disease.
  • I understand that if I withdraw from the college at any point during the academic year that I must fully move out all of my belongings from the residence hall and turn in my key/ID within 48 hours of my withdraw date. I also understand that I am still responsible for all housing and dining dollar charges for the academic year.
