Rommy Sandhu is a Director, Choreographer and Educator with a passion for bringing stories to life through movement and expression. He is a member of SDC the union representing professional Directors and Choreographers, Actors Equity Association, and SAG-AFTRA. With more than 3 decades of experience in the performing arts industry, Rommy has worked on a diverse range of projects including stage productions, music videos, corporate events and commercial advertisements.
As an Educator, he strives to support and nurture each generation of artists by engaging and developing their individuality and uniqueness. His approach to developing new theatrical voices that are at ease in both the classical and contemporary realms continues to be a driving force in Arts Education across the country.
After a long and successful Broadway performing career, including being the Dance Captain for Tony Award winners Susan Stroman (A Christmas Carol, Oklahoma!) and Matthew Bourne (Mary Poppins), Rommy was Associate Director/Choreographer to three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall on the Drama Desk and Outer Critic’s Circle Winner The Unsinkable Molly Brown as well as Academy Award-winning screenwriter Barry Levinson and nine-time Grammy Award-winning musician Sheryl Crow’s Diner. He also choreographed the groundbreaking production of Fiddler On The Roof at The Drury Lane Theatre, and the critically acclaimed Singing In The Rain at The Muny. His unique work has made him a sought-after theatrical voice.
Rommy is thrilled to continue his work here at Marymount Manhattan College Theatre Arts.
