About the Program
The Musical Theatre Program provides each student with individualized coaching, as well as a supportive learning community of students and theatre professionals.
The two-week program will give students the tools to analyze a script and song, make informed acting choices, use music to propel the story, and understand the techniques required to create a digital pre-screen. The program is based on current industry standards for both college auditions and the professional world in New York City.
For the past nine years, Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) has been proud to offer this transformative summer program right here in Manhattan’s Upper East Side of Manhattan. As MMC joins Northeastern University’s global campus network, this program is now offered in partnership with Northeastern’s Accelerate Pre-College Programs.
Applications will be evaluated for acceptance into the program on a rolling basis. Applicants must be 16 years old by the start date of the program.
Please Note: Due to the short-term and non-degree-seeking academic nature of these summer programs, the Summer Academy does not accept international students.

“The summer musical theater intensive program at Marymount was the highlight of my summer. I made many new friends from all over the world despite the virtual setting who’ve continued to help me through the audition season. Christine Riley and Emily Clark provided us with valuable training, emphasizing the importance of telling a story through song and dance. This program solidified my passion for theater, and helped tremendously when it came to preparing audition materials. I loved every minute of it.” Oliver
“MMC’s summer intensive truly changed my life. I learned so much from multiple professors during my time there and grew immensely as an actress. I experienced a taste of a true BFA Musical Theatre curriculum, and it prepared me for all of my college auditions this year. MMC is a college, but also a family.” Annie
