Michael Mendez is a New York City-based actor, director, and Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts at MMC. He is thrilled to be back directing his second Mainstage production after previously Carrie. Additional directing credits include Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! (Weston Theatre Company) and Lucky Stiff (Arizona Repertory Theatre). As an actor, Michael was seen performing on “The 77th Annual Tony Awards” with the Tony-nominated company of Water for Elephants. His Broadway credits include the original companies of Water for Elephants and Chaplin, with television and film appearances including Elsbeth (CBS), A Place in Hell (NEON), and Last Week Tonight with
John Oliver (HBO). His regional credits span the country, including productions at Goodspeed Opera House, Westport Country Playhouse, The Old Globe, the Kennedy Center, Weston Theatre Company, and the Alliance Theatre, among others. Michael graduated from the University of Arizona with a BFA in Musical Theatre and received his MFA in Directing from the University of Idaho. IG: @mendezzzz
