About
(she/her) Hi! I’m double majoring in Dance, with a concentration in Jazz, and Behavioral Neuroscience, and minoring in Chemistry. I’m also the president of MMC’s Neuroscience Club. I hope to enter an M.D. and/or Ph.D. program after undergrad. I chose that track after having some amazing internship opportunities. I’ve interned with The Morishita Laboratory for Developing Minds at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine for over a year. I run behavior experiments using a mouse model, do histology work, program machine learning platforms, and so much more! I also assist an MMC alum working toward his M.D./Ph.D. in neuroscience with data analysis and image quantifications.
What are some of your interests?
I love trying new things—for example, I try not to eat at the same restaurant twice. I also have a huge sweet tooth, so if I’m not eating out, I like making homemade candy or chocolate. And I’m a big fan of horror movies.
What made you want to be a peer mentor?
I want to offer someone an outlet to release their thoughts and confusion during that difficult transition into college. I had a major change of heart in my first year when I realized I wanted to put equal effort into the sciences and dance, which was not my original plan. It would have been beneficial to talk through this change and organize my thoughts with a peer. I hope to be the crash pad for someone that I could have used during my first year at Marymount. I also enjoy networking and connecting with people. As a mentor, I hope to show that it’s okay to ask for help and that it can lead to better connections and opportunities in the long run.
