About

David Via is a global business leader with extensive experience in brand strategy, digital marketing, and international business development. Over the course of his career, he has led strategic growth initiatives, developed high-performing teams, and navigated complex markets across the music, entertainment, and consumer products industries. His expertise spans entertainment marketing, brand management, digital and social media marketing, and public relations. He holds an M.B.A. from Babson College, an M.M. in Music Performance from Northwestern University, and a B.S. in Music Business from Millikin University.

Recent Work

Via served on the Board of Directors of NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) from 2020–2024 and has been a featured speaker and lecturer at industry conferences and global colleges and universities. 

Research

David’s perspectives on leadership, innovation, and the music industry have appeared in trade publications and interviews, where he advocates for the intersection of creativity, commerce, and cultural impact.

Teaching

Via has served as Visiting Professor of Music Business at SUNY Potsdam and Adjunct Professor of Business at Southern New Hampshire University. 

Professional Experience

David Via has collaborated with internationally recognized entertainers and creators, including 23-time Grammy Award winner Chick Corea, recording artist Phil Collins, Game of Thrones Lead Sound Designer Paula Fairfield, and Mark Lanza, former president of the Motion Picture Sound Editors and Sony Studio Sound Designer and Supervisor. Prior to teaching full-time, Via led international sales, marketing, and brand development initiatives at companies such as Yamaha, D’Addario & Co., Sabian Ltd., Zoom North America, and LOUD Audio.
