Alums shine at 2026 Tony Awards

What do we love best about the Tonys? Spotting members of the MMC community on and off stage! The College was well represented at the 79th Annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 7—congratulations to all those who performed, presented, won awards, earned nominations, and worked behind the scenes on Broadway’s biggest night. Here are some of the familiar faces we saw.

Robert Jones ’05
Jones is the chief marketing officer at Lincoln Center, which won big with its revival of Ragtime. The production scored four Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Oprah didn’t gift the cast, crew, and producing team with cars, but she did send champagne for a celebratory toast!

Eitan Markowitz ’22
Joining Jones in the night’s celebrations was Markowitz, who made his Broadway debut as a Ragtime production assistant.

Michael Duling D’Angora04
D’Angora and his husband, Tom, co-produced six Broadway productions that all took home awards, including Cats: The Jellicle Ball, Titanique, Giant, Oedipus, The Lost Boys, and best revival winner Ragtime.

Eric Leiggi ’15 and Ellery Sandhu ’01
Leiggi and Sandhu, agents at boutique talent agency The Mine, represented clients in several Tony-nominated and Tony-winning productions, including Nichelle Lewis, who earned a nomination for her performance in Ragtime. The agency has additional clients in Ragtime, as well as The Lost Boys and Liberation, which won the Tony Award for Best Play.

Sophia Gutchinov ’17
Actor and performance artist Gutchinov put her people skills to work at the Tonys, where she worked backstage at rehearsals and helped the live show move by presenting and handing out awards.
