Photo Gallery: ‘Changing Landscapes: Research and Fieldwork’
Now through April 30, Changing Landscapes: Research and Fieldwork at MMC’s Hewitt Gallery of Art brings together photographers, painters, sculptors, and media artists exploring shifting visions of the natural world.
Curated by Hewitt Director and Art Professor Hallie Cohen with professors Adrienne Baxter Bell and Beth Shipley, the exhibition features work by Markus Baenziger, Donna Bassin, Elisabeth Condon, Julia Hechtman, Matthew Jensen, Claire McConaughy, John O’Connor, Edrex Fontanilla, and Associate Professor of Communication and Media Arts Sarah Nelson Wright. Themes range from environmental melancholia and light to water, memory, and the evolving relationship between nature and the built world.

New High-Tech Visual Arts Center Opens as Hub of Creativity for MMC Students
This semester, when MMC students are encouraged to think critically and act creatively, they’ll have a new state-of-the-art home to help bring their visions to life. The College has officially opened the doors to its Judith Mara Carson Center for Visual Arts, a stunning 12,000-square-foot space it began constructing in June 2021. Classes will be held there starting Sept. 6.
